The chinese currency is the Renminbi/RMB (“people’s currency”) also called yuan or kuai. Each RMB is divided into 10 jiao.

For cash withdrawal, you can use your credit card in money machines in Yunnan’s main cities (Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Jinghong) or at the counter with credit card and passport. No problem to change euros. Travellers cheque are not very convenient and there’s few places where you can pay with your credit card.
